They get on my NERVESSSS!!!
I am not generalizing, I am sure there are alot of nice Lebanese people and I have to admit that I love going to Beirut and love how sweet and friendly the peopleย are in their own country, but I have no idea what happens to them when they travel.. they have this stupid attitude that I cant handle..
They look at you and deal with you as if you are nothing and they are everything.. hello, you are in MY country so you better behave..
Everytime I meet one or 2 Lebanese who make me change my mind and prove me wrong, I meet one of the OTHERS and start cursing again..
Let me tell you my latest story, a guy called our offices asking for me.. He was “I am not sure if you remember me I came over to your offices for a meeting a couple of days ago, my name is Eng. Firas and I work as an Aviation Engineer in Washington”
I thought that since one of my Clients is in the Aviation field then he must need some information..
He said “I need to ask you a couple of questions”
I was “please go ahead”
Him” are you single?”
Me”!!!!”
I started thinking maybe this is a prank done by one of my colleagues brother as he likes to change his voice sometimes and hoax us.. I started laughing
Him- in an angry voice “why are you laughing??!!”
Me “I am sorry but I feel this is a hoax”
Him” No it is not, how else can a guy who saw a girl that he liked get to know her?”
Me” ok sorry Ill stop laughing” and yet I still felt that by the end of this conversation he is going to say “ma3aki Nadime Sarraj min barnamej Nakshet Mukh, maklab 3ala il telephone”
Him” can I be frank with you?”
Me” Sure”
Him” a person can meet alot of females in his life who he can have sex with, I have the opportunity to “anam ma3″ 5 different girls everyday but eventually a guy starts looking for someone special”
!!!!!!!!! I was expecting honesty but not this kind of honesty… this made realize that he is definately not someone I know hoaxing me as no one i know would say what he did..
Me” I am sorry but I am not liking where this is going”
Him” tayeb how old are you?”
Me- not knowing why am I still talking to him “29”
Him” and why havent you got married till now?”
Me” because I am happy the way I am and I still did not find someone to convince me to marry him”
Him” but what if he comes when you are 39″
Me” then great”
Him” I dont like it when a girl gets old and not be married”
Me” well this is your point of view and I have mine”
I then started to get angry and said “I am sorry but I dont like to meet people this way”
He got angry started cursing and then.. what do you expect happened?
He hung up on me..
I have many other stories with Lebanese people that I will tell you about later..
If you are Lebanese please dont get offended, again I am not generalizing but weird stories happen when i meet any Lebanese..
i think the problem is inherent in you! I am not Lebanese but Lebanese people are like any other people. and exceptions do happen.
3awwadkhalaf: you could be right, as I said I do like Lebanese but I am not sure why all the weird situations happen with them ๐
Lebanese: group of peoples with almost nothing in common save a lebanese passport. It’s an attributive only used outside Lebanon, by the way, as inside they are members (whether they like it or not) of one of the many political, ethnic, sectarian, class, u name it) crowds. They are yet to become A people.
Are you trying to say you got this close of getting hitched and getting off our backs and YOU DIDN’T TAKE IT!!!
tsk tsk tsk!
(LOOOOL)
Just kidding .. wallahi just kidding … turn off your light saber!
Yaak: I honestly dont understand them and I dont think I ever will…
Qwaider: LOOOOL.. mashi ya sayed Samer.. allah iysam7ak ๐
What i meant to say was that ur “due respect” is reaching nowhere. They can’t be referred to in a collective manner. They are individuals. However, beware of developing a “Lebanophobia”. There are quite a number of marvellous Lebanese passport holders out there!
its with all ‘due’ respect.
and to be honest, i lived with them ever since i was 2, i was in a lebanese dominated school and i cant say that i liked it back then, but it was simpler, now, i cant stand working with them or talking to them bout anything, coz most of them (il tarkeez 3ala most not all) r shallow w ihtimamatun sa5eefeh (clubbing, drinking, shagging and bragging) completely not my type of ppl.
bs LOL fi3lan why did u keep talking to the guy! lol
Yaak: as I said I am not generalizing, I am sure that there are a lot of nice Lebanese people and I do respect them.. and their case is similar to all Nationalities, like the Jordanians in Lebanon and Dubai, its as if they were in a cage and someone set them free..
Verbal Alchemy: thanks for the correction ๐
I have no idea what kept me talking ๐
I just started my new blog, so I thought “maybe I should check and see if there are any other arab-american bloggers around”. I actually found Qwaider’s blog and started reading the posts………ok, to make a long story short, I ended up here and I was interested in the discussion of Lebonese people. I live in a very large Arab community here in Michigan and at work I have interacted with Arab’s from every background. I never had any problems with Lebonese ppl, but to be honest, the majority of my friends always tell me that Lebonese ppl act very arrogant towards other Arabs.
welcome to the blogosphere and to my blog ๐
Again I am not generalizing, I am sure there are A LOT of great Lebanese people but the ones that I meet are just weird.. I am sure there are a lot of weird Jordanians we well ๐
This is kinda awkward, but…………….can you give me some tips on how this blogging thing goes.
Like I said I’m a virgin blogger and I was posting my first blog last night, which actually took me almost an hour…..yeah, you’re probably laughing your head off right now. Anyways, I would very much appreciate some insight.
Thanks ๐
this is not awkward at all… I know what you mean.. I have been blogging for more than a year and yet there are still several things that I dont know how to do..
I am not sure what kind of tips do you need, I need you to be more specific please..
I also need you please to add your URL so I can check out your blog as well ๐
there are several aggregators that you need to check out.. you should check Qwaider’s Planet (www.qwaider.com) and submit your blog, you can also check girlygator.com.. when you start reading and commenting on other blogs, others will start checking yours as well (but you have to make sure you add your URL :)) and this how it all starts..
Samer (Qwaider) wrote a lot of blogs with tips to new bloggers.. you should check them out as well
I’ll be awaiting your questions ๐
Thanks so much for the info. I really appreciate it. I did check out qwaider’s blog, that’s actually how I got here.
The first thing I needed to know is, how do you organize your blog. I mean, when I was writing my blog, I needed to start a new paragraph and I didnt’ know how. I tried writing my blog on “word” and then copying it to the space provided, but that didn’t work so I just typed everything in the space provided and the text ended up in one paragraph. I guess you’ll see for yourself once you visit my blog.
Thanks again for your help ๐
writing it on a word document first does not help.. the fonts spaces will change on every post.. but to be honest I am not sure y are you having this problem… I know this might sound stupid from me but what happens when you click enter to skip a line and start a new paragraph? doesnt it work?
Hey Princess,
Sorry I couldn’t respond before but I eventually found out what I was doing wrong. Thanks anyways for your help. ๐
I’ve been adding a couple of things on my blog. Why dont you pass be and tell me how it looks.
See ya ๐
lol.. not all lebanese are like that maybe some, but not even most…i dnt rly think u should judge all the lebanese to the ones ukno cz theyre not all the same lol =] ikno that lebanese are very friendly and hospital ppl ..
xxxxxxxx
I know they are not all like that.. I am sure there are a lot of respectable Lebanese, its just that it seems that I only meet their worst ๐
